Elma Felix, 31, moved to Sarasota from Miami two years ago when she was offered a job by Sarasota County to work on their comprehensive plan. The first draft of the plan will not be out until January, but Felix has been busy working and meeting with people all over Sarasota County to try and find out what people really care about and want to see changed or stay the same in their community as more growth and development happens.

Felix is a millennial and young professional herself and realized that the group had not heard from many people under the age of 50. The county recently held a small discussion group with students at New College to get their perspective on Sarasota County and what they would like to see improved. Unravel caught up with her after to talk more about her role with the comprehensive plan and to see how she herself feels about being a millennial in Sarasota County.
