Tampa looked more like Venice, Italy or the mythical lost civilization of Atlantis after about 8 inches of rain fell in some parts of the area over the past three days. That’s how much water the region is supposed to get during the entire month of August, according to the Weather Channel.
About 44 stretches of road were closed because they were underwater. Kayaks, airboats and jet skis became preferred modes of transportation on waterlogged streets. People found catfish in their driveways. Srsly.
My daughter just saw this catfish swimming down our driveway! @SaintPetersblog @noahpransky @PaulFox13 pic.twitter.com/N64mA851St
