Grab three of your closest friends or coworkers and show well you know downtown Sarasota at YPG’s inaugural Q Dash at 2 p.m., April 22.
Teams of four will scour downtown decoding clues about the local arts, culture, history, and business of Sarasota, and finding the corresponding landmarks. The teams will have to take a photo of the solution and post to Twitter using the hashtag #QDash. Judges will be following along online and the winning team will receive a prize package containing a variety of goods highlighting local businesses.

3. What are your top three tips for teams?
- Register early! We have a limited number of teams we can support, and those that wait until the last minute might miss out.
- Have someone from your team attend the Captain training on April 7th at the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce. You’ll get lots of insight on how to best get your team the most points.
- Have fun! We encourage teams to wear costumes, give themselves fun team names, and take goofy pictures when they find landmarks. As long one person on your team knows how to operate Twitter or Instagram, you’ll be successful.
Registration closes April 7 and there will be a team information session that night at 6 p.m. at the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, 1945 Fruitville Road. The meeting is required for team captains, but all members are encouraged to attend.
