Ringling alumni help to haul in another Oscar

"Zootopia" [Provided by Disney]

I watched the Oscars last night, but I really only pay attention to the Best Animated Feature Film category. ‘Zootopia’ took the Oscar!

I never wonder IF some Ringling College of Art & Design alumni worked on the winners in this category, I  just wonder HOW MANY.

‘Zootopia’ had 23 Ringling College of Art & Design alumni helping to bring this Oscar home.

Graduate Patrick Osborne was nominated for best animated short for ‘Pearl’ – the first virtual reality film to ever be nominated for an Academy Award. In 2015, Osborne won an Oscar for best Animated Short Film, “Feast.”

Last year, among those nominated for a 2016 Academy Award with the help of Ringling alumni include ‘Inside Out,’ ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens,’ and ‘Mad Max: Fury Road.’ In 2010, Brandon Oldenburg won an Oscar for ‘The Fantastic Flying Book of Mr. Morris Lessmore,’ which he co-directed.

Impressive.
