Don’t have a “screw this” attitude toward hurricane season

The first named storm to make landfall in Florida this year has come and gone. I think most of us would agree that Tropical Storm Colin wasn’t a big storm.  No need to freak out, right? But, smaller storms can bring tornadoes and a dangerous storm surge, that includes flooding inland.

I saw posts on my social media of friends who had gone shopping in preparation. No, one gallon of water, a jar or peanut butter and Pop-Tarts are not going to help you during a hurricane.

After surviving the rain and surge of Colin, it is now a good time to remind you that we should take every warning seriously and not develop a “screw this” attitude.

Here are a few tips.
