There was music. There were hula hoops. There were hugs.

The seventh annual Harvey Music Festival, honoring the life of Harvey Bernard Milk, an openly gay man elected to public office in California in 1977. He was called “the most famous and most significantly open LGBT official ever elected in the United States,” according to Raymond Smith and Donald Hiader-Markel, who were authors of “Gay and Lesbian Americans and Political Participation” in 2002.

Basically, the Harvey Milk Festival is the most fun you can have with people without actually drinking milk.

As for the festival, let’s take a look at some of the great photos from the event, which ran from May 12-14.
