Why do we love Miley Cyrus? My bff Elizabeth Johnson and I aren’t quite sure we can articulate it. Is it her deep, twangy voice? Or her complete mastery of I-don’t-give-a-fuckery?

Either way, we have happily chosen the unpopular road of post-Disney, Miley Cyrus-fan. And so when we heard that Cyrus dropped a new free album on her website after the VMAS, we spent our Monday analyzing into the night.

It’s called Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz. With a Z. And we dig it.

Below, we analyze three songs from the 23-song album — “Karen, Don’t Be Sad,” “BBTalk” and “Pablow the Blowfish.” Nope, that last one is not a metaphor.

Happy listenin’!
