Boca Kitchen Bar & Market has been packed since it opened last year in downtown Sarasota.
Now it’s sister is moving just around the corner.
The farm-to-table restaurant’s parent company is bringing its seafood restaurant concept to downtown Sarasota.
Commercial building permits filed with the city of Sarasota indicate $210,000 worth of construction for new restaurant electric, plumbing, drywall and a storefront for an Atlantic Beer and Oyster at 1534 State St.
The restaurant’s Tampa-based parent company made its first move into the Sarasota market last year when it opened Boca Kitchen near the Lemon Avenue and State Street intersection. That restaurant is less than a block from the Atlantic Beer and Oyster site.
The Winter Park Atlantic Beer and Oyster menu has a strong emphasis on oysters but also features burgers and shrimp and fish dishes. The beverage list has 12 draft beers as well as a wide range of beer in cans. The bar also serves mimosas, bloody marys and margaritas.
