Sarasota’s third Chipotle is almost here.

But almost just got a little bit longer.

The new Chipotle at the southeast corner of Fruitville Road and Honore Avenue has delayed its opening until later this month.

The restaurant, which was expected to open this week, made the delay announcement in a sign on its door. The store cited reasons outside of its control, and the sign said it cannot open until 10:45 a.m. on Jan. 23.

“We hope to see you all on our big opening day, and again we are really sorry,” the sign said. “We were hoping to serve you, as much as you wanted to enjoy our delicious food.”

So you’ll have to wait another 10 days for the new Chipotle.

Or, you know, you could drive to one of the two other locations in town: at University Town Center or on U.S. 41 across the street from Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
