What’s happening this weekend?

Congrats! You’ve made it through another week. The holidays will soon be here, but before you get all stressed out over what you’re cooking for Thanksgiving or what you need to buy for your parents for the holidays, go have some fun at one of these great events happening this weekend.

Got a need for speed?

Head on down to Englewood this weekend to see more than 40 powerboats compete in the Englewood Beach WaterFest Saturday and Sunday at Englewood Beach.

I’ve got the Blues!

The fourth annual Venice Blues Festival will be happening on Saturday at Maxine Barritt Park in Venice. Gates open at 10 a.m. and music will start at 11 a.m. Make sure to check out all the acts especially Grammy-winning musician and actor Chris Thomas King at 2:45 p.m. and blues legend Lazy Lester starting at 4:15 p.m.

A dog-gone good time!

If you’re a dog lover you will want to head out to Bishop Animal Shelter SPCA on Saturday for The Canine Christmas Festival. There will be vendors, food trucks, a Doggy Fashion Show, a chance to have your pup pose with Santa and of course the option to adopt! It won’t be just dogs up for adoption so if you’re looking to add a cat, rabbit or another small creature to your home you’ll certainly be in luck.

We love food trucks!

This monthly event is always a go to for us. The JDub’s Food Truck Rallies are help outside the Sarasota brewery and include great music, food and craft beer.

Let’s do the lindy hop!

If you’re looking to do something a little different this weekend and go back in time you should get tickets to Lindy on the Lawn out at Historic Spanish Point on Saturday. Pack up your best picnic blanket and find your best 1920s attire and go enjoy the sounds of Michael Arenella and his Dreamland Orchestra. Food vendors will be on site and there will be plenty of champagne and other libations to sip on while you dance the day away.
