Happy Fall, y’all

Sept. 22. The first day of fall.

Time for boots, sweaters, hot cocoa, soup, fire pits, changing leaves – except, oh yeah, we’re in Florida.

This is my fifth Florida Fall. If you can call it that.

My favorite season brings different things here than it did back home in Kentucky. I miss the smell of tobacco barns, the brisk air, the red leaves.

But I’ve come to enjoy Florida falls, which are really just less hot – if you’re lucky – summers. Why?

Candy corn makes the perfect beach snack.

 

Inside a cold bar, pumpkin beer tastes as good as it does on a cool day up north.

Sweaters and boots can be bought based on cuteness or comfort, not warmth.

 

Pumpkin Spice Lattes can be iced.

 

You don’t have to worry about freezing your ass off in that skimpy Halloween costume.

 

No rakes.

 

You won’t be drenched in sweat just because you walk outside.

All good things must come to an end. So here’s your bad news:
