What’s happening this weekend?

It’s the weekend and you’re looking for something better to do than Netflix and Chill, right? We get it. While we all love our downtime after a busy work week we also like to go out and have fun. Here are just a few of the fun events happening this weekend that you should go check out.

Love craft beer?

Sarasota Beer Fest, inside Robarts Arena 5-9 p.m. Saturday, features a great lineup of 80 different local and national craft beers, food sampling from local restaurants as well as live music, a photo booth and non-alcoholic beverages.

Looking to chow down on some grilled, cheesy goodness?

Manasota Grilled Cheese Festival is a new event to the area taking place 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Sutton Park in Palmetto with 20 food and dessert trucks lined up to serve gourmet grilled cheese and dessert dishes, plus live music, full liquor bars and no admission charge.

Want to do something fun with the whole family?

Mote Marine’s Shark Days concludes  Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the Fins & Family Festival offering early childhood lessons all about shark life cycles and biology through stories, songs, games, and crafts.

A fan of beer and puppy dogs?

Every third Sunday of the month, Motorworks Brewing transforms its gorgeous, mostly shaded beer garden into a playground for dogs and those of us who adore them with adoption specials, vendors, food trucks, live music and Motoroworks’ award-winning beer during the Yappy Hour Extravaganza from 1 to 4 p.m.
