Patrick Valentine is a DJ, but he’s more focused on spinning bike wheels than discs.

His music, light and video mashups keep the 48 stationary cyclists at Sarasota’s new CycleBar moving with the beat, burning calories and building muscle. Valentine can play the hottest music video from this week or from 30 years ago on one screen and flash fitness performance stats on another.

The indoor cycling culture has boomed in New York and Los Angeles, and you’ve seen it parodied on Comedy Central and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Now it’s spreading into Southwest Florida.

CycleBar is kicking off its first Sarasota location with 10-free days of cycling classes beginning Thursday.
